You can go to a pro shop and they have books you can order custom balls from, or if you want your name or an I love someone they have engravers and they'll charge like $5 or something.

Most bowling alleys have "Pro Shops" where they sell bowling balls .. The surface of a bowling ball is critical to bowling a good game. So if you want to bowl well .. you will only want to place your initials on it. However, if you just want a bowling ball with your name on it .. or .. as you say .. " I love so and so " .. for a special occasion .. like to hang on your Christmas tree and read as you walk by it every-so-often.. then sure.. you can have it done. One thing .. the person that etches in all those letters and words for you will probably charge you extra money . since it requires more of their time and labor to do so. They may also ask you to sign a release paper . releasing them of any responsibility of your scores for future bowling games using that ball. Good luck ! :)

try doing a search on usbc (United States Bowling Congress) or brunswick.com. Brunswick makes bowling balls and you can probably order them directly. Also check your local bowling alley. The pro shops there often can inscribe something on it when balls are drilled.
