I'm starting pre-algerbra/algerbra this year and I want to pass with flying colors. Can anyone give me tips for studying? Formuals and what they are used for? And or a web site that is easy to understand?

Thanks!

For the best way for me to understand and pass tests is to do your homework yourself. There are to many formulas for Algebra but list them on a large note card or sheet of paper like formulas for logarithms and slope intercept forms. The textbooks should have formulas listed in books, if your teacher doesn't list them. I took math up to AP-Calculus

Here's a website that has a few formulas.

Don't be intimidated, make sure you have a full grasp of fractions, multiplying them, dividing etc. and stay up to date with your assignments, because they move quickly from one lesson to the next, often using the one prior for the new lessons. Other than that, you have to memorize some formulas, but if you do your homework and a little extra studying--that's all you should need. Remember x and y are just variables, and even common multiplication and division can sometimes help you identify them.

Itz very easy to do it ...

Dont confuse urself ... Be clear while you learn and work out before the exams ....

have the list of formulas written in a seperate paper and keep on reading at your leisure time so that it would remain in memory for a long time ...

dont study till the late night b4 the exam ... during the maths exam , it is necessary to have a complete rest and a fresh mind to get colorful marks ...

It is spelled algebra. You will be working with equations, basically that means that things on one side of the equal sign equal (hence the name) things on the other side so to make any changes and have the equation stay the same you have to do the same thing on both sides. Example, 14x=280. Find the value of x. Simply divide both sides of the equation by 14 and you end up with x=20.
