My wife and I use seperate computers. We connect to the Internet via an ethernet router. Our ISP is TalkTalk. Today we have been experiencing problems where some sites will load and their varying links work. Other sites will not load at all. Yet, other sites load the front page and we cannot get any further. Our ISP says its our router. They offerred no other help than that. I feel that it is the ISP where the problem lies. Anyone have any suggestions as to what might be going on.

unplug your router and plug it back in and your modem if you have one to rest the connection

I have to agree that the problem is more likely to be at your end and not talktalks as they would be inundated with calls from other customers if they had web routing problems.

Unfortunately it isn't easy to advise as this can be due to several factors such as your firewall, both software and hardware (the hardware one is the one that may be built into your router), your NAT may have been corrupted in some way which be causing your problems. Without a certain technical know how and without knowing what router you are using it may be hard for anyone to offer anything more that generalised advice.

You may need to do a firmware upgrade on the router or simply reset the router. Have seen in the past where some routers stop processing pages correctly as other technologies update like jave and flash and such and a simple firmware upgrade solves the problem. Try and see the call em back and say hey guess what s on your end

This sounds like it is an issue with the ISP not the router. To check it unplug your router, plug 1 machine directly to the modem, if it still gives you problems then you know it has to do with the ISP.

Call your ISP tell them you KNOW the problem is with their service and say if they dont get it fixed your moving to their competitor. I did that and ever since then I get the BEST service ever.

Have you tried connecting without the router? And if you ISP think it's the router then read the maual and get in touch with the makers and see what they have to say.

Try restoring your browser settings to default. Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced. Also, do a virus and spyware scan.
