I have been asked by my cousin's partner (they are lesbians) to donate sperm so they can have a child. They've offered me the ability to have as large or small of a role in the child's life and this excites me as I could be somewhere between an uncle and dad role. They are in a loving and healthy long-term relationship, both are professionals and I am not worried about the child having physical needs met. What are some specific issues/questions I should ask before proceeding? Has anyone else been in a similar situation and how did it turn out? Anything I should be aware of that may change after the baby's birth?

You should also consider how your present or future partner might feel about you being the father to that child if you are taking a part in his/her life. If your with someone now you should also talk to them about it. Also, what is the rest of your family going to say/feel about it and can you handle it if they have negative feelings. If you can deal with it and deal with what everyone else thinks then go for it.
