You know he is a cool singer and i think his wife is a very lucky lady. But i am a fan of him thanks to his being the voice of a number of charity projects- like Live 8, like DATA, etc etc.
What do you think?

When a person achieves the level of success that Bono has, they can either go one way or the other.

They can take all their money and fame, buy a private island (or whatever they want) and live their out their days in a material world.

OR, they can use their celebrity status to draw awareness to issues that effect every person on Earth.

Whether certain people like the man (or not) for his music, personality or political views, the fact is that he's not sitting on his butt in front of a computer and complaining. He is out there spending his own money and trying to make a difference. His cause is effecting me positively and I appreciate his efforts. His mission is to benefit all of mankind and others spit on him.

MY OH MY.... what a messed up place we have here.

Rock On Bono!

I think that he and U2 are one of the best bands ever. And while I do not necessarily agree with all of his politicaI views, I commend the fact that he is out there doing SOMETHING to help people with his money and time unlike a lot of other people with money and left wing views who sit at home and count their money and only want to "feel" like they are doing something supportive.

Favorite songs: New York, Gloria, In God's Country, Mofo

I'd like to know how much of his own money he actually give. I saw them in concert this year and I didn't like that fact that he seamed to be begging for money from all of us. We just paid $175 for a ticket bro! Now you ask me for more?

it's great that he's got a cause, but I won't go see them again because of the solicitation that I felt.

He is a celebrity and given that, I believe he has a moral obligation to use his celebrity to better the world around him.

Too few celebrities use their fame to better the world in that way. I admire him for doing so. (His music is pretty good too.)
