There are many things contributing to obesity, the first thing I would do is create more oppurtunities for adults to fit in fitness such as mandatory exercise breaks at work, and school.I would also lower the cost of healthy organic foods, and decrease health care costs so that decent treatment and healthier food could be more attainable. Then I would increase the education of doctors on nutrition and portion control as well as having school programs that teach healthy eating to children, ban all junk foods and soda machines from school. And encourage overweight children to be more active by having special clubs for overweight kids in an environment that could feel safe in.I would ban and outlow extra portion sizes. And ban food additives that cause weight gain and addiction.

I have traveled extensively around the world, and yes Americans are some of the fattest people around. Obesity is relevant to income levels, the higher your income the more likely your are to eat well and live a complacent lifestyle. We need to get up off our sofas, stop watching so much TV and get some EXERCISE. Walk, run, jog, lift weights, play a sport, do something physical, AND stop eating so much food. Our problem can't and won't be solved by the government, or a magic pill. It has to start with each individual.

I rhink someone should start a service to match people up with workout partners and that gym memberships should be free. Especially at parks and recreation - hospitals - universities - public schools - etc. When we live on credit and on an income that is G-o-n-e week to week, we don't have money for a gym no matter what we make. They should operate on tax dollars and voluntary contributions. They should also offer nutrition and weight counseling at the gyms for free. Could be a class and not one on one all the time. They won't help as long as medical care is B-I-G Business in this country. They want to kill us for profit.

Stop eating so much junk food and exercise regularly, but it's easier said than done. A lot of people are lazy and cannot resist the smell of McDo.

People have to start walking or cycling to work! Notice that people who live in big cities and don't have cars are not obese.

How 'bout we have the gov't pay people to lose x amount of weight and pay them more if they keep it off x amount of time. It might be worth the tax money to have a more respectable society.
