I am wanting to get into a career which is meaningful, possibly with a non-profit organization, but I am unable to find any info on what types of education I would need.

Your best bet is to go to these non-profit organizations and ask them for information, or if they have any pamphlets or other literature that you can read. They would probably be the best source of information. Another option is to check with your local community colleges or State university. Just guessing, I would say that you'd need a bachelor of science degree to enter into this particular field. Good luck -- sounds like it would be an interesting profession.
