Don't understand your question. I assume you mean the "metric"system. It is a measurement system based on a "rational" set of measurements developed during the french revolution and subsequent Napolionic period.

volume by centimeters or liters
weight by mm millimeters
one centigram of water equals to one millimeter by volume
cm = mm of h2o (water)
