Is it possible to create your own multiple identities. Because that is what I am thinking about doing? I will always have me, the original. But I'm thinking of creating 3 more. One would be aggressive, caustic and brutal. Another would be generous and kind. The final, would be the learner. It's personality would have it's own department, at what it is good at. Is there any way to create them? Steps that I can take to create my 3 other identities?

I remember hearing of an experiment where "normal" people attempted to mimic persons with multiple personality disorder by try to create their own multiple personalities. They found it to be very difficult and were just plain horrible at keeping up with their personalities esp. during a phase where they were encouraged to rapid cycle.

Maybe you would like to simply assert different aspects of yourself at different times and situations. Be the learner when you encounter a new and different situation.

Question:, when you see a hurt child and you were "aggressive, caustic, brutal guy" that day do you think you could actually hold on to that? I doubt it. Only a real person with the disorder could.

Some people have a multiple-personality disorder, but this is the first time I've heard of someone wanting to create it. I guess everyone has different personality characteristics at different times. But even in psychological multiple personality disorders, it's generally the most dominant one that comes out and eventually eliminates the others. I can't tell you the steps to take to create multiple personalities, since the disorder I describe is involuntary. The best policy is to be yourself. In which mode do you feel most comfortable -- I hope it isn't the aggressively brutal one -- but if that's the real you, you won't need any pointers. Your true self will always emerge without any conscious effort on your part.

Why don't you simply become a well-rounded individual (but leave out brutal guy, we have more than enough of them in the world -- how about confident, assertive guy who knows his own mind, instead)?

We all have different aspects, and moods, and modes of behavior. The trick is to not divorce them all into unintegrated bits, but to be the characteristics apt to the context we are in from moment to moment -- to have all our aspects and modes available to us.

BTW, what's the original you?
