If it were for undergrad work, then this is a no-brainer -- Northwestern is the best school.

But for Medicine, Baylor is ranked #10 by US News and Northwestern is ranked #20 -- with UC-Irvine being around #40.

You probably can't go wrong with any of them. Think about where you want to live.

I can't put Baylor into the mix because I don't have any direct experience there, but unless you are deeply affected by weather, I personally would put Northwestern over Irvine. Both are good schools, but Northwestern seems to have more of a national reputation (which may be because they have been around longer). The cost of living, specifically housing and transportation, in Southern California are scary for most people without terribly high incomes right now. I live in SoCal, and I see how much our new people struggle, living hours from campus in an effort to find decent housing. I'm a Northwestern grad, and would move back there in a heartbeat.

I have been to 2 of the 3. NW & Baylor. If I needed to choose I would go with Baylor. It is in Waco, TX. I spent alot of time down there last year working and its a nice campus and the surrounding area isn't too bad.

UC Irvine is a very good campus but cost of living there is much higher than it is at the other places.
