My neighbor ( an older lady) let me test drive her 1992 Honda Accord and she is going to let me use it whenever i need to until i get a car since our car is in the shop and I haven't got my own car yet. Would most people let someone use their car like this? It's kinda neat because this is the kind of car i want to get.

You're lucky to have a neighbor like that. Just make sure you take good care of her car while you're using it.

Not at all.

I sometimes have to phone around all over the place to find who has got my car when I need it.

As long as everything is properly insured and you treat somebody else's wheels with a bit of respect (like NO thrashing it to see how fast it will go) everything is fine.

You might think about getting the ol' girl something nice too - it doesn't have to break the bank or anything but some token present just by way of a thank you would be good when you can finally get your own wheels back on the road.

It's just karma :o)

Believe it or not, people with big hearts really still do exist. Sounds like your neighbor is one of them. Just be sure to take care of the car like its your own, don't take advantage of her kindness, and keep being grateful. Wonderful things happen and come to those who have grateful spirits, even if it's for the little things. Happy driving!

As long as I know the person, and know there not going to go out and party and wreck my car I don't have a problem letting friends, neighbors or family use my car.

You have a very kind neighbor. There's not many neighbors like that anymore. Just be respectful - don't smoke, drink or eat in her car and return it with a full tank of gas.

There isn't anything wierd about it, it seems to me she's just a sweet old lady. Enjoy it and thank her for her kindness often. Though I doubt she would let you do it if you weren't already the kind of person that knows how to be thankful.

She just seems like a sweet old lady. Does she not drive much anyways? I would just say to be thankful and don't abuse it! Have fun.

That is sweet, but I couldn't do it because I would be afraid of something happening to it.

But yes, there are people who are generous enough to do that. Just doesn't happen often which is why it is unusual.
