Well, you "could". But that doesn't mean your message will get to the person and I personally think that it's rather obtrusive to ask someone else as they're going through the process of death to pass on a message for you. "Hey, while you're lying here in agony and dying and have all this stuff going on, could you please tell Aunt Martha I'm sorry I broke her vase?"
I know you didn't intend it that way, but it sounds like you believe that you can't talk to someone who's already passed yourself. I personally believe that there are many ways to give messages to people that have passed - prayer, speaking out loud, writing messages and burning them. If you believe in the afterlife, then you should consult with your religious/spiritual teachers if you can and ask them what they suggest for getting a message to someone who has passed. If you have no one to talk to or ask questions, then there is also some reading you can do - in the spirituality section of most book stores. Sylvia Brown is a notable author on the afterlife and psychic abilities.
Whatever you decide to do, it is up to you to make peace with whatever issue you are having. If it were me, I wouldn't burden someone on their death bed with delivering my message.
Good luck and I hope that was helpful.

Yes, you certainly can. But because the person is dying, make sure your message is very clear and understood, if possible. What would be equally interesting is to speak with this person who is dying and arrange some kind of sign or gesture or signal that would be recognized by you if that person found a way to communicate from what most people call the other side; the other shore. I am 63 years old, and my mother continues to guide me from the other side, so yes, it can be done.. your question about passing messages, try to remember that the physical shell or body is now missing so messages are passed Spiritually, or through the ether without material mass or structure. All you can do is make the request. Try to phrase it in the "Would you be willing to.....?" form so the dying person will not feel at all put upon by having to do this for you.It is okay to make the request. We know so very little about what happens when we die. There are many answers offered to us... but for each of us, ultimately we form our own opinions based upon our beliefs and our Faith and our intuition. You could also try to address the Spirit of the dead person directly, to see what response you, personally, receive. This whole area of thought is a little bit like speaking of people who have seen a U.F.O. The best response I have ever heard was "If you have seen a U.F.O., you don't need to prove yourself to anyone. You know what you have seen, and that's it." Our world is filled with mysteries that probably will never be fully explained. Another one is ghosts. But, to return to your original question, by all means make the attempt to have your message passed along to whomever you wish. You have nothing to lose, and who knows? You may find something new under the sun, after all. The one thing I have discovered in my life is this: The stronger your Faith in God, the greater God's presence in your life. God has a way of explaining things to us that lifts us completely from the dark. To close on this one, I do not honestly believe God would mind if you made this request to pass a message along to someone who has already passed over to the other shore. If any of this brings you insight or understanding, then you will have very rare knowledge, indeed. Sent to you with good energies from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A.

sounds a bit freaky to me but I guess it can't do any harm, as long as you know someone that is dying and they don't mind taking the message
how would you know if the message got though ?

That would depend upon your faith, whatever your belief, if the person you entrusted the message to, was of the same belief, and ok with it, I am sure it would be perfectly fine.

whisper it in their ear when they are asleep. They will never know the question, but sub-consciously will hold it until they meet that person.
