Something involved with the courts of law, or related services like a PI, family courts, bounty hunter, government records clerk. Pedophiles are less numerous than you think but each one is high priority and gets top news billing. I suspect that there are more pedophile hunters than pedophiles, and the sting operations and fishing expeditions are much more prolific, where investigators are catching each other under cover more than they are catching pedophiles.

There are several options, which vary from volunteer which requires little more than a willing attitude to master or doctoral degrees. You can work with child protective services, a women's shelter (which also assists the children of women in abusive relationships), as a social worker or a child psychiatrist or psychologist. Obviously, those jobs such as in child protective services or a women's shelter would put you in more direct contact with children undergoing abuse than a psychiatrist or psychologist, who could have all kinds of patients. And depending on your location, there are other positions - locally we have a women's advocate for the victims of domestic violence, and I'm certain that in larger cities they have children's advocates who assist children in similar situations as they go through difficult legal battles.

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be mean because I think it's great that you want to help do that but the first thing that came to my mind when I read this was hearing little kids say what they want to be when they grow up and the answers being "Doctor", "Firefighter", "Child Pedophile Catcher!"

I've read of some people searching the web for child porn.
For example, there is this woman who searches a P2P file sharing network for child porn images and movies. Then, reports their I.P addresses to the Police and they take over from there.

Perhaps a private investigator. I think you'd need a degree in criminal justice. Even though you may not want to be a police officer, since you'll probably still have to work closely with the police in these matters, the criminal justice degree may help.

there are many fields of social work that deal with helping children, social workers are kind of the go between of the child and the police and it gives the child someone not quite so scary or intimidating to talk to and trust

a social worker or child psychologist at a school. it's more personal in these professions as well. you don't just catch the pedophile, you help the child victims.

Do what those ppl on that show do. Set up sting operations using kids as bait and catch them in the act.
