That's the magic of any sport: there are prime players at all times. And if Federer/Sampras were the same age they would have definitely met more than once - at the end it would have been more or less balanced.

Sampras would. Federer is no doubt an excellent player but I would pull for Sampras. That would be an excellent match though. How about Federer and Agassi during Agassi's prime. I would pull for Agassi there too.

Federer is almost UNBEATBLE on grass.sampras also won many wimbledons but on grass, i pick federer.but sampras also rules the hardcourt. had numerous appearences in the u.s open finals.for hard court i pick sampras.

Federer, no doubt. They faced at Wimbledon when Roger was a teenager and Pete was the King, and even so Roger ended Pete´s mark at grass.

Both great players with amazing but unique skills...Sampras wit the serve and volley..Federer is still going strong at age 35 and seems to be getting his groove on again..I will roll with Federer is Betterer!
