that happens when the test read more than an hour after it's been taken. Go by what the test said in the first 10 minutes, and if your still in doubt, do another test first thing in the morning, when you first get up. That will have the stongest concentration of the hormones and you'll get a more accurate result than if u wait till later in the day. Good luck, hope u get the results you'r looking for.

There is no such thing as a false positive result but there can be false negative results. If you checked the results after the allotted time frame had expired it was not an accurate result.

i've heard of it occuring however it's not accurate. Even the box says DO NOT READ AFTER 10 MINS. If it happend i'd wait and test again or call my doctor.

Yes, it can happen because hcg builds up in the urine if you haven't gone for a couple of hours.

It's called an evaporation line.... it does NOT mean positive. She needs to take another test...
