Well well well last shift at work tomorow, starting a new job on monday should i go in or stay off?

If you ever want a good reference from these people you should go to work.
It is very unprofessional not to.
For all your hard work you may have put into the company they will always remember you as the guy who didn't turn up.
They have a right not to pay you if you do not fulfil the terms of your contract and work the required notice period.

This boils down to an ethical question. The right thing to do (ethically) would be to go to work tomorrow. You made a commitment to work, and you have a responsibility to uphold that commitment, no matter how draining it is.

One thing I would suggest though, is whatever money you make working that shift tomorrow, you set aside and spend on something special for yourself (maybe a trip to a spa, or get your nails done professionally, or something very special that you do not normally do). That way, you are rewarding yourself for sticking through it until the end.

Another thing to consider is this:
Your boss probably does not expect you to come in, because the "norm" is to not go in on your last day when you quit a job-- imagine how impressed that boss will be when you do show up, and if you have children, it will teach your children that no matter how bad you do not want to go to work, the responsible thing to do is to go to work and earn that money.

Good luck to you, and I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but my answer is to actually go to work for your last shift. It is the right thing to do, and you deserve the special treatment that extra money will give you.

Well, if you commited to come, then yes, it is the correct thing to do.
Besides, you dont want to burn any bridges.
However if you gave the people plenty of notice and you have a new job in the morning after your shift, then no - you need rest and be able to start a new job with a fresh mind.

Do you like your coworkers? Are they throwing you a going away party? These would factor in. If it were me, I would show up and loaf around, saying goodbye to the people I liked and eating any pot luck they threw for my departure. Then when I got bored I would leave. What are they going to do, fire you? You have a new job lined up, so references aren't really an issue at this time....

If you want to say goodbye to your workmates and there's the possibility of a leaving prezzy,go in.If you hated the job,don't bother.But don't forget that if you're entitled to holiday pay,your bosses will deduct from it if you don't turn in.Good luck with the new job.....ps to ARSEANTLERS.....read the question first.
