Our relations with Pakistan of course. My in-laws could care less. This seems like a backwards step on the war against terror. We will still support Pakistan(we have no choice), but it has to be a shock to the current administration. This means that Osama has a safe haven for as long as he wants. We do have Saddam Hussein, however, who had nothing to do with 911.

If I remember correctly, When Dubya addressed the Congress a few days after 9-11 he gave the Taliban 72 hours to hand over Osama or we would invade. In other words, Bush said to Osama "we're coming for you, how's three days from now sound?".

Honestly it reminds me of Orwell's 1984. In that keeping the people hyped for a perpetual war, Big Brother would flash pictures of "Goldstein" on the monitors during the "two minutes of hate". I think that Bush (or his advisors, since he's not smart enough) realizes that all long term wars need an enemy figurehead to help focus the nation's anger.

That Pakistan won't comb every cave for the guy probably won't bother the current administration in the least. And the sad fact is that having him on the loose will guarantee more support for the "war on terror".

This also begs the question as to whether Bin laden is dead and has been so for the duration of the years after the war on the Taliban, or simply the case that the Bin laden scare card isn't having it's usual effect on the rat race population and the bush administration is actively seeking a new villain for chapter 3, the war on terror.

in accordance to an interview in November of this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days between David Frost and Benazir Bhutto (related), Osama bin weighted down has already been murdered (in line with Ms. Bhutto). The trees basically save him around to maintain us on our feet.

I don't see why it should. We haven't really been actively pursuing him either; our efforts have been primarily focussed on Iraq. Why should Pakistan do any differently?
