plato...he said something about the unexamined life is not worth living. I think everyone should give themselves an assessment and improve what areas they can. Lord knows we ALL need improvement!

Jean Jacque Rousseau. I love his view of the perfect democracy. A community of people in a place of nature where everyone gets to have a say in everything that goes on. I'm sure it was probably a little more complicated than that, but I read about it years ago, but it has stuck with me. Also Voltaire, for the quote, "I do not believe in what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

He gave a broad girth to the Mid-east, to the different religions, and to his faith in mankind. He moved to America, and he was a Christian, but, he was all things for all peoples. I think this is why I like him so. He was for all peoples, no matter of faith, country, or background.

because he taught us that civilisation corrupts man, the only solution would be to tear down all civilisation and feast on the rubble.
