Since he is your friend you should at least tell him you are bi.
Anyway, there is a chance that he is bi too. After you tell him, see what his reaction is over a few days. If now that he knows you are bi and he trusts himself to reveal his same sex attraction to you - then pursue.
But if your friend is completely straight, do your self a favor and move on. Spend your time and energy on someone who will be able to love you back. One of the worst things you can do is to fall for a straight man. To fantasize about this makes it worse.
I know. I fell in love with my buddy. I waisted a year on him. Don't repeat my mistake.

Does he know you're bi? If he does and he's OK with that he might not get creeped out if you tell him you're interested in him.
If he is, then his friendship might not be worth keeping. Who knows, maybe he's a little bi-curious... I've seen a lot of men lately that are like that.

I think it is important to be honest with your friend. Does he know you are Bi? If not, you run the risk of ruining your friendship if you tell him. If he knows you are bi, chances are he is open enough to be flattered but I wouldn't expect to get anywhere with it other than allowing him to know how you feel.

Then even if you tell him, you know that he won't like you back, just because he is straight. I think you shouldn't ruin your friendship by telling him, I mean, although it is the truth, it will just make things awkward between you guys and ruin the friendship.

Does he know that you are bi? Ask yourself if it's worth ruining a friendship over.

It depends on what you mean by 'like him'. As a friend - fine. Tell him that's what you'd like. But anything else - don't push your sexuality on someone whose preference you already know. I've had wonderful gay friends, and a couple of lesbian friends, but that's all there ever was and we all knew it. I've lost contact only because I moved to another city.
