Think he only did the quarters, the halves and the o'clocks!! his voice is a bit monotone so prob no one could be bothered listening to him go on about the 17 minutes to 3 and all that cos wouldn't he have to dictate it!!! I heard the wheelchair is just 4 show and he puts it on to get a better parking space!!!!
Oh chill you lot, the man himself has a sense of humour unlike you lot!!!!

Hawkins isn't so smart. He established himself with some theory about black holes thirty years ago. No one could (be bothered to) disprove it so he was established as a more or less self proclaimed genius. Two years ago he decided that oops he was wrong.
An analogous way of looking at this is like me stepping up to the parapet and saying that 'whoops, I'm not the king of the seagulls', something which I strongly thought when I was FIVE YEARS OLD. The only difference being that no one else was duped by my false visions of grandeur because I don't have any sympathy garnering disability. Lets not forget that this is a man who allegedly beat his wife.
The real question here, is that if Steven Hawkins is so smart, then how come he can't even walk, and can only talk with the aid of a speak and tell.
Sheesh!!!!

Are you an idiot....
It's not the only thing he's written. He wrote the Universe in a Nutshell and a couple of other books. They were written so that the layman could understand things like string theory, M-theory, black holes and all sorts of advanced physics.
You obviously are a part of the lesser-than-layman's group if you truly believe the crap you just said.
Just do a search for one of Hawking's many scientific papers. You won't even get through the first page of one without your head going numb and then exploding.

Because a complete history of time would be too long and boring a book for the average person to read.
Hawking IS a genius. YOU have no idea whereof you speak.

Unless he is a "space man" with unlimited access to the universe, then he would take it on. it would probably never be finished, so what else would he do? besides, the "Brief History" is a promotional title for his work. It is for the laymen to understand and to read, and so it wouldn't be very good advertising to put anything but brief and simple to understand attributes to the publication title. It doesn't reflect the effort he has put into it.

Stephen Hawkins books are great, there easy reading because he makes an impossible subject to the layman easy to understand. If you cant understand what you read, all you have to do is visualise Stephens life form. Then try to understand the difficulties he has had to overcome. The difficulty you are having understanding the universe then falls into insignificant the only way to compete with Stephen is to try harder to make yourself understand. Read his books and see what I mean. Try Black Holes and Baby universes.

he is lower in the food chain for a reason, my advice is just dont read his infantile drivel, he has nothing better to do than sprout bullsh*t and people assume that he is a genius just because of his wheel chair bound robot voice state.
It's another victory for positive discrimination for the left wing socialist world.

He's written a lot of stuff on the subject, "The Brief History of Time" is his attempt to dumb it down for public consumption.
