so we freed the mice using extra virgin olive oil...so for all you doubters out there you all can shove it because the mice experienced little to no discomfort and now are frolicking merrily in the vans box that they were placed into and now will be released into a farm by the name of howe...haha...sucka!

I suggest you flush them down the toilet. The water mixed with waste provides a natural chemical that will remove the adhesive. The mice can live the short amount of time it takes to get to the magical underground world where they can live and play with others like them.
Just keep telling yourself this as you flush em down.

Maybe a little oil would help free their little stuck feet. I hate those traps. I am an animal lover and if people HAVE to set traps they should just use the ones that put them out of their misery quickly rather than have them starve to death.

The company I used to work for built a new ofice in a field. We had mice! Surprise! Some idiot got glue traps. The cleaning people would throw the traps in the dumpster with the little live mice attached. I couldn't stand the mice squeaking in agony so I lobbied that if we had to kill them then we had to use the "regular" traps. I won and actually they didn't get anymore traps. We didn't leave food around and the mice went back outside.

LOL Sorry, but this reminded me of my neice setting out a sticky trap, catching a mouse, feeling awful and trying to cut the mouse out of the trap, she ended up cutting its little foot. She felt bad, gave it a bath and let it loose out in her back yard. 10 minutes later, her cat caught the poor thing. She got it away from the cat, did CPR on it (YUCK!), but it died anyhow. I STILL don't understand why she put out a trap if she didn't intend on it dying in the first place!

They DO have a thing called a live trap. You can get them at Walmart, Home Depot etc. They are rectangular plastic boxes with a door on them that the mouse can get into, but not out of. You catch the mouse and just set it free somewhere away from the house. Only cost a couple bucks and they do work.....just so you know for next time.

Cut the trap into eight sections, one for each paw. Hopefully, the trap pieces will come off as the mice run around. You might want to check out Havahart traps. You just take the mice out to the nearest field and open the door with them.

If you don't want to kill them, then why do you have a sticky trap?
There's no pain free way to get them off of there. I suppose you could try peanut butter, but I'm sure their skin will still rip off if you try to remove them.
I would try cutting up the traps. Like leaving a little stump under the foot. You can get their bellies off by cutting their hair.
Umm... good luck. I would probably go get my be-be gun...

You really can't. I went through this myself. I'm an animal lover. Just try to kill them the quickest way possible. The brain is the pain center. We had a rat problem last year after the hurricanes (rats come into the houses) I resisted poison as long as I could. But I tried everything else before that including the devices that are supposed to drive them out by the noise.

I am glad to hear that you were able to unstick the little guys...If you are ever in a position to have to have them killed....the most humane method is set up a trap that is an electricution box. It is considered the most humane trapping method. I personally like the fact that you were able to set them free... My cat used to bring me them as dead 'presents', I was able to trade her with wet food for the 'presents' brought in alive. It worked out well she got wet food, the mice got to live another day and I never had to worry about a mouse problem...THANKS FOR CARING ABOUT A LITTLE LIFE

Don't use a sticky trap. Usee a fine wire mesh trap that will not harm them, take them away from your home and release them some place far from home.

put a glove on and pull them off
