Sure, why not. There are really a lot of nice people in hard circumstances out there. We should give each other a hand up when ever we can, and not limit it to three.

I LOVE that movie - it ranks way up there in my all-time favorite movies. I don't see why it shouldn't work in our society, but you've really got to put some thought into how you can pay it forward. According to the movie, each of the things you do to pay it forward should be a sacrifice for yourself, and it's got to serve a perceived need. It's the convergence of the two that helps to instill the gratitude sufficient for the receiver to accept the responsibility of paying it forward.
I like to think that I'd be pro-active in finding ways to pay it forward, but it would take some creativity, and a willingness to reach outside of my comfort zone. I couldn't do that without a lot of focused, prayerful effort.
Meanwhile, I look for the small ways to serve. After watching the movie, I can't help but think I could do more.

No, it was a crappy movie and that little kid was hideous. He got one of those faces you'd never get tired of slapping. He'd scare a hotdog right off it's bun. I bet between takes the director whacked him upside the head with the clacker thingy. Thanks for the 2 points though.
