I really don't know, but its so true. I love a good cup of tea, whether I have a problem or not. I tend to drink tea with my friends and we all chat about the problem, so by the end it tends to be sorted, therefore associating the experience with the good feeling afterwards. It's also comforting and hot. Mmmm. I fancy a cuppa right now. Also, whenever I'm at home, Dad brings me a cup of tea in the morning and he makes the best tea. It always makes me happy.

It creates an opportunity to think a problem through or discuss it with a friend while having a cup of tea. At this precise time, I am enjoying, relaxing and drinking a cup of tea.

Although all kinds of teas have all kinds of good stuff in them, caffiene is in black tea and caffiene is a mood altering drug. It generally makes us feel better.
Taking a cup of tea (or coffee for that matter) is also about taking a step back, slowing down and thinking while doing something soothing.
I used to be a tea drinker but these days its coffee, preferably Millstone. =)

When you're stressed out you often dont think clearly so just the action of stopping to take a breath, make a cup of tea and drink it can be the thing you need to stop your brain buzzing for long enough to think clearly.

I reckon its so the person who is making the tea or coffee has chance to think of something to say to the person in need of comfort while they are waiting for the kettle to boil, tea and sympathy is a wonderful thing in all our hours of need.

I think when we have tea or coffee, it's usually with a friend, and with our friends we are able to talk things out and make sense of most problems.

Because tea has natural herbs and spices, not to mention that it's usually either warm or cold which is usually what your body needs at stressful times. And tea just tastes good. ^_^
