I enjoy reading from some these authors so maybe you could list some that are similar to them: Meg Cabot, Sharon Creech, Blue Balliott, Megan Shull, Edward Eager. Thanks!

Meg Cabot is also one of my favorites. So is Sharon Creech. At borders.com, if you look up a teen book, there is a side panel (left or right) that may say "the best teen books" or "teen books you should read". These are lists of teen books that other teens enjoyed reading. You can check those out, or you can ask a couple of your friends.

I can think of two series off the top of my head but both of them only have 2 books out so far. One is the Jennifer Scales series by Anthony Alongi and Mary Janice Davidson (husband and wife......she also writes adult books.......age wise not rated x stuff) This series is about a teen age girl who turns into a dragon. Sounds weird but is very good. The first book is Jennifer Scales and the Ancient Furnace and the second is Jennifer Scales and the Messenger of Light.

The other series is by James Patterson. The first is Maximum Ride - The Angel Experiement and the second is Maximum Ride- School's Out Forever.

I don't know of any, but I am an avid reader too - always looking for new books but want to make sure I'll like them.

So I go onto amazon.ca and enter the books I've read and rate them. Then amazon.ca suggests other books I might like based on my books, and the suggestions of theirs I've turned down in the past.

You could also look up your favourite books on amazon.ca and then look at the section of the page entitled, "Customers who bought this also bought these books..." (or something like that).

I've found some GREAT books that way.

Actually come to think of it (I don't know how old you are though) but a good book for a 15+up teen girl is The Mirror by Marlys Millhiser - I loved it and here are some other reviews: http://www.amazon.ca/Mirror-Marlys-Millhiser/dp/0915230151/sr=8-1/qid=1157658974/ref=sr_1_1/702-7213940-1514455?ie=UTF8&s=gateway

Beverly Lewis in case you like stuff appropriate to the Amish. I additionally like the Sister Chick books even with the actuality that i won't be able to remember the author. they are rather good for the laughs. have you ever examine the e book "Christy" by Catherine Marshall? it incredibly is greater of a classic. yet i might fantastically propose it. I additionally like Bodie Thoene and Michael Phillips books, yet than i'm into greater historic stuff. Bodie Thoene's books must be confusing for some to deal with as they talk prewar themes of Nazi Europe yet i stumbled on them incredibly theory scary. individually, i'm no longer rather into romance books because of the fact I evaluate them incredibly unrealistic. i assume i'm an avid reader and could examine maximum something i visit get my palms on as long as that's up construction and can study something effective from it. good success with your reading!

Can't believe nobody has mentioned Orson Scott Card. I don't know the authors that you read, but anything by OSC is great for YA literature, as well as adult. I recommend Ender's Game first, as science fiction, and Enchanted, as a great fantasy with a modern twist that those who love or don't love fantasy will certainly enjoy.

How young of an adult are we talking about? Any book that an adult can understand a young adult should have no problem understanding as he/she is either still in school or just out of school and still has the ability to retain most of their knowledge of words and how they are written.

The Gossip Girl is a good series. But they have a lot of books, so you have to dish out maybe $100 for all the books, unless you get them used. But they are really good books.
