Yahoo won't allow you to use Outlook with their free version.
You can either choose to pay (I wouldn't) or get a Gmail invite.

If you want to use Outlook as your email client with yahoo, you need a paid account. However there is a client similar to Outlook, YPOPs, that works with free accounts (but only for receiving emails, not sending them).

If you want to use Outlook you can choose one of the free providers of POP3/SMTP email from here
