baby cereal 2-3 months, when they start acting more hungry after the bottle. Then i believe if i remember correctly you start with hmmm veggies or fruit i can't remember but meat last. that starts around 4-6 months (ask doctor) feed them the same kind of baby food for a couple days to make sure they are not allergic to it. Then gerber has stages and i think the labels have the age on? solid foods around 1yr of age and can switch to regular 2%milk.

This is a site that will help you month to month to know when the best timeing for this stuff should happen. You can start rice and oatmeal at 4 months, but if the baby is satisfied with breast milk or fomula still then you can wait until 6 months. Some people try to start earlier than that, but it can lead to food allegerys to start too early.

Since you asked this question, I will suggest you also check out what foods you should wait to introduce until certain ages. For example you want to hold off giving the baby egg whites and honey until after they are a year old. You also should hold off on penut butter for as long as possible.

My sis started her daughter on baby food at 5 months old. Just the slurpy kind. Like apple puree. But also still milk fed along with this. She then moved onto things like cream pud at 6 months. I tells you on tins of baby food at what age you can give them to babies.

Some people start at 4 months but the American Pediatric Society says to start at 6 months.

They say 6 months, but we started my daughter on solids when she started staring at our food and smacking her lips. She was about 4.5-5 months old and got the go ahead from her pediatrician. She's now 10 months and will eat pretty much anything that isn't nailed down.

As a general rule about 4-6 months. However, I gave my oldest child a little bit of cereal (very watery) when he was 6 months old. I only gave him about 1 to 1-1/2 measured tablespoons. It really helped.

WELL MOST START ANYWHERE BETWEEN 4-6 MONTHS.
I STARTED MY SON ON CEREAL FIRST AT FOUR MONTHS THEN AT ABOUT 4.5 MONTHS ON JAR FOOD (START W/ VEGGIES FIRST AND ONLY ADD ONE NEW FOOD ABOUT EVERY THIRD DAY THAT WAY U NO IF THEY HAVE A REACTION TO IT.) IF U START YO SOON W/ FRUIT THAT'S ALL THEY WILL WONT. MY SON IS 5.5 MONTHS AND TODAY WAS THE FIRST DAY HE GOT FRUIT FOR LUNCH. MY SON EATS CEREAL FOR BREAKFAST(ABOUT4OZ) AND A 6OZ BOTTLE, HIS LUNCH IS A 4 OZ JAR OF FOOD AND A 6OZ BOTTLE DINNER THE SAME BEFORE BED A 6OZ BOTTLE ONLY. SOME DR. HAVE DIFFERENT OPINIONS SO IT WOULD BE WISE TO CHECK W/YOURS.
