Sadly there really isn't much you can do about it. What will happen is as they grow up they will start to see it for themselves. Then Dad will never be able to repair the damage.

Nikki, I know just how you feel. The way i handled the situation was I eliminated my son"s father out of his life. I told him until he could do better he didn't need to come around. Lying to a child will start to have its effect on them, it could discourage them, make them feel unloved and not wanted. You don't want your child to grow up feeling this way. I know it's best for a child to have both parents in their life but not if it's at the cost of their self worth, you know. There are plenty of children that grow up in single family homes and turn out find, they just don't show that on tv. if you love your child unconditionally and fill them with validation, teach them to love themselves, teach them to put GOD in their life, they will be just find. I'm a single mom too, and I applaud you.

There is nothing you can do to change him. The kid will figure it all out themselves.
