Compassionate. You would say 'He is a compassionate man.' To say 'He is a compassion man.' doesn't make sense. The adverb would be 'compassionately.

COMPASSIONATE. I have no compassion for those who said compassion was an adjective. They should engage their brains before they try to answer questions. They just want the points.

Just a little FYI to clear up one posting:

From Answers.com:

"Com·pas·sion·a·ble (a.)
Deserving compassion or pity; pitiable"

So, while it is an adjective, I don't think this is the one you are looking for -- I think you want the one meaning a person who *HAS* compassion, which is, of course, compassionate.
