Is there a difference between Yale College and Yale University?

I believe Yale College is the exclusive undergrad institution where Yale University is the collection of seperate Yale schools (i.e Med School, Law School, Graduate School etc.)

Basically if your grades aren't high enough to meet the standards of Yale University, you can get accepted into Yale College and once you get your grades up, transfer to Yale University. If it's anything like The University of Tennessee around here, then you still take all of your classes on the Yale University campus.
