Windows 2000 does indeed have a (very basic) firewall;
in fact, it's merely an advanced feature of your Internet connection, part of what is known as IPSec; see
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309798 for the complete specs and how to.
be VERY careful what you do with this; you may well end up blocking your I-net altogether :-o :-&
should this happen, disable the feature completely and download and install the free ZonaAlarm (it's the only free FW left, that comes with an approachable user interface: http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/1001_cnet_zdnet/zlsSetup_65_737_000_en.exe )
if you actually have a firewall installed on Windows 2000 (most software FWs that work on XP will also work just fine on 2K ~:) you may want to click on Start => Programs and look for any of
- Zonealarm
- Symantec (may also be ONLY the Anti-Virus!)
- Sygate
- Kerio
- Network Associates (possible AV only, too)
- .... the list is nearly endless :-<
in the corresponding "icon group" you should find a "configuration tool"of some kind

Windows 2000 doesn't have a built-in firewall, so a recomend that you get one. Here are some excellent free firewall you could use:
Zonealarm:

Sygate:

Windows 2000 does not have a builtin firewall. If you think you have a 3rd party program, check your add/remove programs in control panel.
