Thank you for the nice responses. For those who responded unkindly, no thanks to you.

To the one who called me gross- why? Because I put something dirty in a WASHER? I put dirty clothes and towels in there too, am I gross for that? Maybe my washer is different from yours, but mine is clean when a load is finished.

I am wanting to clean a pair because I cannot find the color to replace them with. I am not rich, so even if flip-flops are cheap, I really cannot afford to throw them out each time they get dirty, just to buy new ones.

Once again, thank you to those who responded kindly!

Try a stiff cleaning brush with a little bit of dish soap. Then throw then in the wash on hot. Works wonders for me.

I would try a little bit of Comet or some kind of cleanser, and an old tooth brush. I used it on my kids flip flops and they got pretty clean.

Gosh, they are less than a buck a pair...you better send them to get dry cleaned...
Wake up...since it is almost the end of summer, you may not be able to get another pair, but next year, since they only cost $1. get several pair & throw them out when they get grungy...
