What is the cause of constricted pupils? What is it a symptom of?

Constricted. Bright light or seeing someone or something that you hate will cause your pupils to constrict. Certain drugs like heroin, meth and some heart meds will also do it (I’m pretty sure there are more, but can't remember them)

constricted. Different reasons(drugs, accident,etc.) causes the variation. Having them dilated in the doc.'s office allowes him to see into your eye better. Light (constrict)and dark(dilate) causes this also.

I am pretty sure is is retracted eyes. So in bright light, you have retracted pupils.
