Does anybody know the Phantom's REAL name?......not the actor. The character. Throughout the whole movie, they call him phantom, what is his REAL name?

his real name was eric, he was a composer and musician who lived beneath the opera hose. he was also known as the ghost of the opera

In the book, which ALW based the musical off of, his name is Erik.(with a K lol) But that name is never used in the musical because ALW wanted more mystery to the character and though he had already made The Phantom personable enough without attaching a name.
