I can't really understand your question. Are you asking about a feeling of helplessness or about learned helplessness?

Okay, so you're asking about learned helplessness. You can't really expect people to be able to answer when and why they've experienced learned helplessness.
Learned helplessness is the term used for describing a state of apathy arising from being unallowed/unable to control your own life.
For instance, if a child has a mother that hits him. He might experience that he is not able to foresee the situations in which he will get hit, or have any way to escape being hit. The child may come to the conclusion, that no matter what he does, he will be hit from time to time, it is completely impossible for him to avoid or foresee. He might then stop trying to avoid unpleasant situations all together, because he thinks: "Bad things happen to me; there's nothing I can do to change that."

I'm still not quite sure as to what it is you want to know, though; but I hope the above was useful to you.

I experienced helplessness as a child when i was a 5 year old.
I was sitting in my school bus, when a big boy, aged somewhere around 8 years came and poured water all over me with his water bottle. I had tears in my eyes. I sat there looking around, helplessly. Not being able to fight with the big boy. His long arms, his great height. I was just too small, to combat with him. He laughed and laughed, and with that every laugh of his, i shed a tear. He gave me that wound of the feeling of intense helplessness, and that scar shall remain with me all my life.

I am crying while I am writing this and tears are burning my eyes. I can barely see the monitor screen with tears in my eyes.
So, you realised how a feeling of helplessness can affect a child?

Make your child strong. Sorry cannot write more, these tears are burning my eyes. Goodbye

i think i learned helpessness around the same time i learned that i couldn't do whatever i wanted and when i wanted and that there were rules to abide by in society. so probably around the age of 2 or 3. that's when you realize that you can't always get what you want.

When I saw my father murdered right in front of me...When he feel to the ground I couldn't help him...he died...therapy should have been the solution, but unfortunately my mother was too old fashioned and didn't believe in therapy...
