Sit the hell down! If you don't you cannot fully empty your bladder. It's also faster. The handle of the bathroom door or the handset of your home phone hves more germs on them than the toilet seat. Give yourself a break.

I sit. However, I always wipe the seat down first. You can't catch anything from a toilet seat. It's all a big myth. Both Tyra Banks and Oprah (I think) had shows about this.

The handles in the bathroom are dirtier then the seat. Apparently you also have more germs on your car steering wheel or even in your fridge then there is on a toilet seat.

Either way, coming into contact with a few germs is not going to make you sick. Never coming into contact with any though will since your immune system will not be able to fight them once you do get something.

Depends, in most public bathrooms I use those seat cover things or just sit. At people's houses I sit. But in places like Egypt, when they had toilets, I definitely hover. Anyone who sits on those is plain crazy.

If it's dirty, I hover because I usually don't have the time to clean the seat off. Otherwise, I sit.

Hover at a public toilet and sit a friends house.

Hover is always the best policy. If you must sit, use paper to cover the seat.

As long as there's no visible urine on the seat, I sit. I find it uncomfortable to squat, and I usually make a mess, which forces me to wipe the toilet seat off with a wad of toilet paper. I would much rather sit and have the back of my legs touch the seat than to have to wipe it off with my hands (even if they are covered with toilet paper). I've yet to meet anyone who has contracted a disease from sitting on a public toilet seat.

It depends if it's clean or not. If the sit look fine I'll sit down, if not I hover :)

Definitely hover, you don't know what other people do to them and how often they are cleaned.
