,) You will have more luck with financial aid at a well-endowed private school than at a public school.

.) Many schools have online as well as live courses. The University of Maryland has extensive online programs as well as being a prestigious public university.

.) Generally, if you are otherwise in good standing, you can take a "leave of absence" for health reasons.

.) If you have good grades (generally a B average) you can take a "course overload." The minimum load is 12 units (4 classes), the average load is 15 units (5 classes) and a heavy load is 18 units (6 classes). If you want to take more than 18 units, you must get permission. If you have good grades, you will get permission.. However, at some, but not all, schools you have to pay extra tuition for all units over 18. My husband's undergraduate college (the University of California at Riverside) allowed him to take as many credits as he wanted each quarter and he was able to graduate in three years. Also, units you have already earned may be counted toward your second bachelor's degree, so you might be able to finish more quickly for that reason.

5. Your question about the textbook was a little confusing. In my experience, in Liberal Arts classes, you were expected to be familiar with the material in the textbook as preparation for class, but the tests reflected the teacher's lectures. This is not always the case though. My husband had a stats class and he asked the teacher if there was going to be anything on the final that wasn't covered in the book. The teacher said no. My husband walked out of the class and didn't go back until the final -- which he aced. It all depends on the professor.
