use a mild bleach and water mixture... something like a cup full to a gallon of water. then you should be able to use a soap and water mixture to keep it from coming back. DIY had a show on how to clean deck surfaces.. should be the same stuff.

I would recommend all what the others say.
But I would look at why the moss is there, it suggest that the drainage is not doing what it should, so in essence the problem will always come back. If its a drainage issue then when you get frosts and cold snaps it will break up the tarmac gradually.

i had moss on my drive i scraped it off . then put a solution of jays fluid on it . repeat this every 2 or 3 days for a week and you shouldnot get it back for a while .if your tarmac is wet all the time the moss will keep coming back if it does just repeat.

We clear the moss off our block paved drive with a pressure washer - keeps it looking nice and new too, I'm sure it would work with tarmac as you don't have all the little nooks and crannies for it to work it's way into.

Batimoss is a biodegradable solution which takes a few days to kill the growth but is a one-stage process and can be left on the surface without rinsing - ideal for delicate areas
Batiface will work within a few hours, killing all growth quickly - it needs to be rinsed off and should not be used on delicate areas and aluminium
Hydromoss is a protective water repellant sealant to stop rain penetration into surfaces and with a fungicide to prevent further growth of any moss or algae

We used Jeyes Fluid left it for a few days and then used a stiff bristle garden brush, (the pressure washer removed some of the tarmac so we stopped using it). We retreat it ever two months in the autumn and winter and it has kept it away. Good Luck!

Common bleach ; fairly strong, just apply it. Don't use pressure washer, it will break it up. Don't use oil emulsion either (JEYS FLUID) it will tend to cause the oil in the tarmac to bleed.out.
Common bleach is CLOROX in the USA

You have an airport,? I would think landing jets on it would wear the moss off. A power washer would probably get it too.
