The scientific method is the process that scientists use to take observations and formulate an hypothesis.

The hypothesis must be a statement that makes testable predictions. The success or failure of the testing of those predictions provides information that can be used to correct the hypothesis.

A theory is not the initial creation of the scientific method. It is the result of an iterative process of observation, hypothesis, prediction, and testing.

A hypothesis becomes a theory only when the predictions made by the hypothesis are tested and found to be correct.

Once a hypothesis becomes accepted as a theory, it is still subject to new observations, predictions and tests. If a new prediction made by the theory fails testing, then the theory is said to be falsified by the new testing results. The theory reverts to its status as a hypothesis until it can be revised and tested and is once again proven to make accurate predictions.

A hypothesis is a guess based on limited evidence, while a theory is a system of ideas used to explain something. I would assume that a hypothesis becomes a theory when more information is added, and you can show how one thing leads to another.

A hypothesis is a principle of a supposition; something that is assumed as an explanation. A theory is a group of propositions used as principles of explanation of an actual fact. The time element involved for the transition of hypotheses to theories depends on several factors; i.e., the amount of study of the principle, the usage, the art or science that deals with a particular subject, and finally, arguments or experimentations that reach the truth.

ok a hypothesis is an educated guess and when it is repeated again and again you will get a theory. When i theory is proven you get a law( for ex gravity)
