No, I don't like the fashion shows that are going in India. If the fashion shows contain Indian cultures clothes, then maybe I would like them, but the designers are more inspired by western culture than Indian culture. I don't know what is so great about western culture that these guys are forgetting to get a good look at Indian culture.

They are unavoidable on the current context. India is destined to make clothing for the Europeans and USs as they gave up this job long back due to pollution. India with its strong clothing manufacturing centres can not stop doing it but only to grow year by year and fashion shows are to be watched with interest by the people of the industry. For laymen the outlooks may seem different as you have put the question!

Well, I come from a very traditional sikh punjabi family...I have a love for fashion and unlike many momz my mother is very fashionable. But, the thing I don't like about these indian fashion shows is for them to say it's an Indian fashion show and then they show western clothing or western inspired clothing. I would like it to be strictly indian clothing.

I think we are all going global in our own little ways, and instead of seeing fault in Indian fashion....we should encourage it.because it may be in some cases more western inspired...but i feel,one cant always hold on to past...We need to move forward with the rest of the world, to be at par or even higher.Dont you feel proud when u go out of India,and someone tells u "Ahh India, what beautiful clothes u people make" Atleast we are covering up somewhere for our lack of manners and decency.

may be may not be! especially in india fashion shows r for film personalities, rich people. Not for common people. some parts of the country we dont have food to eat. Who cares what is the fashion?

Fashion shows are harmless and fun. Culture doesn't even come into it! Fashion shows are designed (excuse the unintended pun) to sell garments of any and all descriptions.
