I was just recently married and it really depends on your guests tastes in music...
any of the old 50's 60's hits went over well at my wedding as well as old Country music like marty robbins-el paso, johhny cash-ring of fire
twist and shout-beatles
bird dance-emeralds (polka)
i knew the bride when she used to rock n' roll- nick lowe
kiss the bride- elton john
happy together- turtles
stayin alive-bee gees

what I did was a search ongoogle for wedding songs...there was a site that listed the top 100 requested songs at weddings like the macarena...it also had garter belt toss songs, cake cutting, first dance songs, bride/father songs...groom/ mother songs, etc...remember it is your special day, but the music should be geared towards your guests, so if you have a bunch of elderly people at your reception chances are they do not want to hear the newest singles on the other hand young guests may not dance to old hits from before they were born...good luck and congratulations!

The Temptations are always good. If I were you I would go more for the Mo-Town oldies as they are more fitting for a wedding. That would include: Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, The Marvelletes, Stevie Wonder, and Gladys Night and the Pips. Just to name a few.

I knew the Bride when she used to Rock and Roll, Nick Lowe,
Cest La Vie, Bob Seegar.
Both must haves, I hope you play them.
Both fast songs.
A good slow one is Best Of My Love, Eagles.
