Do you think they are deliberately trying to mislead americans? And I don't know what it is about, but just that they claim it is fiction, and what the title is. Don't care about the rest, except I learned this from many cons who are all excited, like it's going to give them some real information...dangerous to mess with small minds.

Also, don't care whether or not it is aired. Just want the youngsters on this forum to consider their sources...since most of them don't know ANYTHING before Reagan!

Where does ABC say that "Path to 9/11" is fiction? In looking at their blog, they use "dramatization" as a descriptor - there's a difference. The only place I can find that says it's fiction is a left-wing blog called "doublespeakshow" (http://www.doublespeakshow.com/2006/09/06/the-fictional-path-to-911/) which is apparently dedicated to debunking the movie before it even airs.

ABC makes the following claim about "Path to 9/11": "Beginning with the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center and ending on the morning of 9/11, the miniseries draws on detailed information from the Report and other sources to take viewers on an unforgettable journey through the events that presaged that fateful day -- to understand what went right and wrong, and what can be learned from this crucial eight-year period". Doesn't sound to me like they are characterizing as fiction.

I'll reserve judgment as to weather or not they are trying to mislead. I'm guessing from your attidude that you've already made up your mind. From the blog, it appears they are simply trying to lay out some facts in the fassion one of those "true crime" shows.

I read through the "doublespeakshow" blog (and, incidentally, that looks like a pretty professionally crafted site for it to be entirely dedicated to debunking one movie that hasn't even aired yet - hmmm...). They say they are dedicated to airing the truth about 9/11. Right. In my view, they made up their minds on 9/11/01 and the only "truth" they'll EVER except is one that shows 9/11 was a U.S. government conspiracy, and they will toss away as propaganda any fact that even hints otherwise.

Partly because 9/11 has reached a point of being mythology in the US.

It happened so long ago (5 years is an eternity given the short term memories that most people have) and there are so many conflicting stories that it's almost impossible to say with certainty exactly what happened, who allowed it to happen, who caused it to happen, who is to blame, etc.

Yes, the producers get the propaganda boost by blaming someone or some party. Was the movie produced by ABC itself, or just being shown on ABC like any other made-for-TV movie?

And yes, no matter what disclaimers are there, or how much truth is there, some people will think it's real, and some people will refuse to believe it's real. Such is the nature of closed-minded people who refuse to consider possibilities. In the end, most people will stick with whatever conclusions they have already formed, regardless.

You'll have to ask the director and ABC.

Tit for Tat - All I'll say is Michael Moore. You got your crap watched - now let the other side be told. Why are you trying to violate our rights by CENSORING the movie?

Shrill. Why did Hollywood dramatize the Titanic, or Pearl Harbor. Are you really insinuating that ABC is an arm of the Bush administration? LOL

What part of docudrama is tripping you up? Poor girl.

Libs claiming ABC and networks like that are 'rightwing tools' or supporting Republicans... absolutely LAUGHABLE...... if any thing, ABC, CSB, CNN, and NBC are pretty much left leaning..... whereas FOX leans a little to the right

Kinda tough to mislead someone when you are claiming that it is fiction. Was Harry Potter trying to mislead you about religion?

(Of course, Michael Moore was let off the hook by the liberal media when he was caught trying to claim Fahrenheit 911 was fact)

They want people to watch. Its a popular topic. Some people will probably watch it, forget that it is a dramatization and then start getting all upset at Clinton.

Its called a DOCUDRAMA. Like the movie Flight 93

Its a dramatization of a real event or in this case several events.

In any event, I wont pass judgement yet. No one should either based on heresay.
But you dems seem to live for heresay so by all means...
