If not, what do you think could be improved upon? What sort of songs/music would you like to see a king perform? I am a drag king in Florida. I mostly do punk/goth/industrial performances. Just looking to see if there is something else that the community would like represented. Thanks!

Additionally, I have been kinging for over 2 years. So far, I appreciate the feedback. I'm just looking to see how an audience would prefer to have it "mixed up".

I've seen a couple. Odd (as in, not what I was expecting), but good. I dated a king for a while who specialized in big band era songs. Full tux and tails costume, top hat, cane, songs like "I Won't Dance". The routines were wonderful.

I've seen a few drag king shows. I like your idea of punk/goth/industrial. Sounds good. Some of the drag kings I've met are so damn serious and self-important, though. Be sure to keep some humor in your show.

I have, in Los Angeles... It was too amature and they didn't have the right costumes and they were silly not funny... I was bored... My friend use to be a drag king and she said that she could have done much better.....
I think changing it up is a good thing, I would try something for everyone.. Challenge your self... Do some Elton John, Something different.

offspring "pretty fly for a white guy"
pretend to be a male cheer leader. a good song would be "Tennessee boys" by Grits.

You should look up All The Kings Men, here in Boston. They are really good, have amazing choreography, and have a lot of humor in their shows.

Please, have a heart! ... spare us. If you must have drag shows, please distant it from gays. I am gay and I just dont understand the wish to pretend to be a woman. Gays are as different from transgendered as are straights. To each his own. But please lets not confuse people about gays and transgendered being sort of similar. Thank you, Sir/Madam.
