My favourite is by far the Model B9 Environmental Control Robot from Lost in Space. I wanted to be Will Robinson so I could have such a cool best friend and his insults to Dr. Smith were the best!

Robby the robot from the film Forbidden Planet closely followed by Marvin from Hitch-hikers guide (the original tv series, not the recent remake).

The robot that you make reference to is called Maria or the Machine-Man (later called the Man Machine by the group Kraftwerk). This is probably the best robot, as it is one of the earliest but is still true to the future of robotics even now- look at ASIMO and PINO.
