check the fuses , check the dimmer control make sure its not off , and check to make sure its connected ,

Are you sure its a fuse? It may simply be the dial that controls the amount of light for the dash (I beleive it's to the left of the steering wheel). The manual in the car should certainly contain all info regarding fuses as well.

I had the same problem a few months ago with my 1992 Honda Civic LX. It turned out to be the dashboard light. Cheap part to replace but had to pretty much take the dashboard apart to get to it...
lucky thing my son was able to take it to his shop class and only had to buy the bulb. the students did all the work in class for free.

Pull all of the fuses one by one and check them. If your car is old, it may be possible for the bulbs to be burned out.
