how many other people,have touched them without washing their hands.even if you wash yours you still have to open the door! big big yuk!

A recent Boston news channel program involved going around and testing different public things for bacteria levels. They were surprise to see that a park bench was almost sterile because of the sun, while the button for a traffic light (shielded because of being recessed) was loaded with bacteria. They were surprised to find that the table at a mall food court was dangerously loaded with bacteria (probably because its only wiped and not really disinfected frequently enough), but they found that the doors to ladies' rooms on the way in weren't all that bad (although they had some bacteria). They found the handles to the door on the way out were actually surprisingly low in bacteria levels.

Many people (including me) take a clean paper towel or a tissue and use that to shut off any water or open the door on the way out. You can also use your your arm to push open some public doors and not even touch the handle of the door. I always keep a few clean napkins in a pocket for touching door handles out of rest rooms.

Put paper on it and don't touch. Take the paper towel and use it on the door, in case of no towels keep tissue in your purse!

Right! I nver touch the door with my hands. I use my butt to push it open, or pull down my sleeve to cover my hand. (Also take some toilet paper with you to open door if all else fails).

completely agree!!! i always feel awful when i have to touch the handle...so i use my feet kicked it!!! just think about what if lots of people not wash their hands. yak yak
