What is the notation for a cd/dvd burner on the computer?

Would you say you have a CD writer/ DVD burner? Is there anything shorter that you can use to indicate if you have a rom drive or writeable drive?

Generally the RW designation (Read-Write) means a burner.

CD-Rom drive = read only
DVD-Rom drive = read only

CD-RW and DVD-RW = burners
