God doesn't help people. He only watches and judges.

I was Christian well into my teen years and I started realzing that no matter how much I prayed, no matter how good I was, no matter how many times a week I went to church, how much of my time I volunteered, how much I spread "God's Word" my life still sucked, and "God" wasn't doing a damn thing for me.
I was molested, and the man got away with it, along with molesting and raping several other girls. I was constantly made fun of in school. I have an anxiety disorder that sometimes prevents me from leaving home. And God didn't do a f*in thing to help me.
So, I gave up. I'm an athiest and I've never once regreted it. I no longer hid behind the "God will save me" mentality and I do things for myself. I don't need prayers to do it.
ETA: I also wanted to say that since I"ve become an Athiest my life is so much better. I've overcome most of my anxiety disorder so that 90% of the time I can leave the house alone, I've come to terms(but not forgiven him) with my molestation, and I worked out my problems in school. I'm now on my way to becoming a preschool teacher, and I'm happily married, with a 6 month old son. I didn't need "God" to do anything for me, I just needed to realize that I had to do things for myself, there's no "god" to do things for me.

No one can tell you if the metaphysical really exists, but no matter what your religion, if you believe in something beyond the physical, (God, Karma, 8-fold path) you can maintain a faith by looking at the simple things that go right for you. I was dreading going to work one day because I was feeling ill, and when I arrived my boss told me that they wouldn't need me. Simplistic? Absolutely. But I'll never forget the feeling I had that someone was looking out for me.
Even if you're not going to regain faith, it still helps to see the happiness in every day and do what you can to make others happy. That alone can make you a more fulfilled person.

God never gives us more than we can take...including temptations. He will always give us a way out if we have faith and choose the path he has given us out. I don't know how old you are, but with hardships, comes faith because once your problem is behind you, you can see how God helped you make the right decision. Please read 1 Corinthians:13, and as the Bible says "faith can move mountains" The turn out may not look good at first, but later down the road...it will make sense. I love you and God Bless!

Answers to prayers are not always "yes". Sometimes the answer is "wait" and sometimes the answer is "no". But believe that God will always do everything in your best interest. But remember that God is not a slot machine, where we put a little (prayer) in and something comes out. He will always provide our needs and even some of our wants. We just have to trust in Him. If you are in doubt about something, ask Him for that peace that passes all understanding. He will give it to you so you can live a stress free and faithful life.

I've had terrible problems and God never said a word or lifted a finger.
I do go to a small church, but the gossipy, bigotted, cruel old people at this church aren't interested in anything but unchanging ritual and the thrill of fearing their own deaths.

i dont beleive in god. i dont care what people think of me. i hate it when people say god created humans.it all about evolution! simple 7th grade stuff. you people just beleive god because you need someone to rely on when things go bad. if you really think there is a guy looking down at everyone everywhere you must be psyco. but i do have one question for you. how did the story of christ get into the hands of humans? some guy made it up. hes put s.h.i.t in your minds

Ironic the Devil believes in God too. My suggestion is to read the Bible and start your own relationship with the Lord. Talk to Him daily.

Well my dad was diagnosed with a pancreatic tumor in the body of his pancreas. Pancreatic tumors are always cancerous and when found in the body, are too far gone to be taken off.
My dad went in for surgery to see how bad it was and the Dr. came out and told us that it is a true miracle. Not only was it NOT cancer, it was removed and now my dad has the whole rest of his life ahead of him. When a Dr. says it's a miracle, it HAS to be because they are usually into Science and facts.

Does it bother you that you don't have much faith? You should talk to your parents or a youth minister from your church, they might be able to help you strengthen your beliefs, if that is what you want.
God doesn't always answer our prayers right away, and his answer isn't always the one we are looking for. Being Christian means believing in his power.
