Relax. Put your feet up when you can and drink lots of water to help with the swelling.
congrats on the upcoming arrival.

Let me start off by saying your so strong and you can do this. I know how your feeling, my last three weeks were living hell and sometimes I even felt a little resentful. But your almost there and you've done a great job so far. Right now your baby is growing the fastest it's ever grown up to this point. About 1/2lb a week! So I think you owe it to your self to sleep, sleep, and sleep. Eat whatever you want, whenever you want, take baths often, that will help ease the pain of your stretching bones. And if possible get a pregnancy massage once a week for at least 60min. It's a little costly BUT you only have 6 weeks and the difference it makes is worth it's weight in gold. I can't stress to you enough how that massage pulled me through. Good luck mama your doing a fabulous job!!!!!!:)

Odd - but kept me occupied and helped tons later....
Make a guarentee, receipts and instructions file. Find the instruction booklets etc for every appliance you own (fridge, cooker etc) and put each one into a seperate plastic wallet/slip thing. Label each one with the appliance name at the top left corner. Place all slips in arch lever file and divide into categories (mine is done by room in the house which the article lives!)
This a) occupies the mind
b) Involves some looking around the house for the items, but nothing too strenuous
c) Is a great place to file all the new guarentees for the nursery stuff (monitors etc) so they don't get lost
d) After baby you don't have time to root round house for them as you used to
Since I did mine almost 12 months ago... my fridge has broken, my baby monitor has broken, I've taken back a toy that didn't work etc etc and been able to do it all very easily becase I had my file!!!!
No laughing please - it kapt me sane!!! ;-)
PS What about writing a birthing plan?
Christmas shopping list?

The last 6 weeks are so bad. I felt so achy and tired and I just wanted the baby out of me. I hurt myself and was on orders to stay off my feet so that made it worse. Try to keep busy if you can, do you have a hobby? You can also just make it a point to go out every day and do something even if it is just window shopping for half an hour.
I also learned not to watch shows like "A Baby Story" it just made me want to have the baby that much more.

I'm at 34 and a half weeks and I'm going on leave next week (cause of gestational diabetes)...
and I'm going to sleep and eat...that seems to be all I want to do lately...and when I'm bored with that...
I have a baby book that I'm working on...
and I'm washing all the baby clothes we've been getting...
So...you can shop ...and then wash....and then organize all the baby clothes by age...
Oh and I also went to the grocery store and bought a crapload of groceries and spent like 4 days cooking casseroles...so my freezer is stocked...so all the hubby has to do is chuck bricks of frozen home made food into the oven to feed me later when I won't have time to cook!
that ought to keep you busy for a little bit anyway...

I would say a lot of rest if possible. Although I made it to 34 weeks in my first pregnancy and I was put on bed rest. Seriously a lot of rest and relaxation. Also massage from the father is nice. In those painful spots. Almost there, Hang in there!

Chill out. Don't give in to the urge to "nest build" I did, I was building cots, sanding furniture and decorating. I was fine though. I also hiked up a hill 2 weeks before my son was born 3 weeks early. I was fitter pregnant than I ever had been. Wierd.
Anyway. Best of luck. do keep your feet up; even put bricks under the foot of you bed, it helps loads. And Childbirth is great!

Eat lots of pineapple if you want the birth to be sooner, it has to be fresh though not tinned! Apparently it has an enzyme in it that can bring on labour. Obviously don't do it too early though or the baby may be very small and have problems. Good luck with it all and it isn't as bad as they say, you soon forget the negative things!

Read loads of magazines, do your nails alot, watch loads of tv, make lists of things you need, pack and unpack your bag for hospital a hundred times. Wash and iron all the babys clothing and linen. Make mobiles and toys for baby. Practise collapsing the pram up and down, likewise with car seat. Spend an hour doing your make up.
You will NEVER get to do ANY of these things again, for a very long time!!!!!!!!!! ENJOY and GOOD LUCK!
