I'd have to say that my favorite is Joe Sakic, Captain of the Colorado Avalanche. He has the most impressive numbers of any active player in the league, is widely considered to be the best combination of leadership/clutch abilities, is climbing several all-time lists at once, and is respected around the league. It's great to watch him in action and see the effect he has on the team.

My favorite of all time? I'd have to say the entire 1972 Chicago Blackhawks team. Although they lost to the Monreal Canadiens in the Stanley Cup finals in 7 games, they were a very entertaining team to watch.

my favorite of all time Larry Robinson (HABS) to the guy saying it took Bourque a long time to win it , well remember the Stanley Cup is the hardest Cup to win in any professional sports. and to the guy that said IGGY is the most complete player well his not even close to that he would not hit and not even block a shot so Zigmund Palffy is not that great sorry.
and Olaf Kolzig was actually born in Africa and then moved to Germany and trained in Canada. but we never needed a goalie so that's why he plays with team Germany just like Petr Nedved when he was younger he was born in Czech. Republic and trained in Canada and even played for team Canada for a few years at a young age.
