Until the 8 week point it is considered an embryo, after 8 weeks gestation it is a fetus. Whether an embryo is considered human isn't for me to say.

when a human sperm means a human egg you get a human embryo, they are human cells, but they aren't considered a person by most measures. Also many embryos don't ever make it to being a person, because there are so many things that can go wrong. Generally an fetus isn't considered a life until it has the possibility of breathing and surviving out of the womb. There is a large debate about that but there are medical definitions for things.

Uh...well if all the contributing parties were human...then that would be at the moment of conception.

At that point it's called a Zygote (the cell that results from the union of a human sperm and a human egg at fertilization - It's still a "human")

The first ten weeks from conception to the end of the tenth week, the group of cells is called an Embryo (at this point, the cells are still "human")

A Fetus refers to the unborn baby after 10 weeks of gestation until birth....during all these stages...the species in question..is still "Human"...

Did you mean to ask about Humans? Or did you mean to classify a "grouping of cells" vs a living organism? ...10 weeks is the marker.

If you're asking "when can the baby survive on it's own"..it's different for every fetus...It is based on it's level of development and the level of premee care it has available to it at the time of birth.

I know a woman who gave birth three months early...and the babies spent months in the NICU and survived to be my wonderful strapping juvenile delinquent cousins that I know and love today...on the other hand of that...I know a woman who went into preterm labor in her eighth month...and the baby didn't make it...every situation is different.

the DNA is human DNA from the very start. But I don't really consider it human until it has a heart beat which is 22 adys after conception.

if you want it in terms of when it's "living", the baby's heart forms and begins to beat in the 5th week of pregnancy. if you mean it actually looks like a human, then it's about the 12th week of pregnancy on.
